A recent CD release is ‘America’s Most Wanted’ from Mike Zito and his Band.

Mike has been playing all the clubs in the St Louis area for many years, earning a reputation as a hard act to follow and he has toured the mid-west several times. This combo were invited to perform at the Annual Angel-Citi Music Market by MP3.com this year and were extremely popular. Mike has also done extensive international touring for USO and DOD including SE Asia. Zito entered the Lucky Strike 4th Annual ‘Band to Band Combat’ and is about to perform in the finals

Mike Zito plays the blues with sweetness, great style, and finesse. Combining this with his amazing voice and his great looks and Mike Zito is a popular entertainer. Zito's has his own special style and can be compared to great guitar legends, Stevie Ray, Gary Moore and Eric Johnson, his music is smooth and fluid with fire. Feel and soul dont usually go with technical prowess but in Zito's case it works. Zito combines moveable danceable feel-good funky blues, with a Southern rock. He plays slow ballads, and even a few cover tracks, namely Princes 'Little Red Corvette' and Bernie Taupins 'Rocketman', but always in his unique style no matter what he plays. Zito plays with ease, making it look so pure, so smooth and effortless. Mike Zito is one of those people who seems to have been born with a guitar in his hands!

On stage, Zito is a great showman with all the usual guitar histrionics--playing behind his head, with his teeth, with a beer bottle, and even invented his own trick, one I had never seen before, playing a slide guitar with a 16oz. beer glass, full to the brim, barely spilling a drop, before shifting it to the other hand to chug it down while his other hand continued to fly across the fret board with perfect accuracy.

Mike works hard and plays hard, you’ll find him on stage every night of the week playing the St. Louis club circuit, and actually showed up on three different stages in one evening. At Fat Tuesdays, where he put on a great show, After the show he could be found around the corner to party some more at Boomers, Later at the after hours club, Zito was again miraculously up on stage. This guy gets around! Chris Minski and Mark Hrabousky are a solid rhythm section, laying down the foundation to let Zito shine. And shine he does. Hes a charmer with a pierced tongue and in irresistible smile. It came as no surprised that he has a loyal following in St. Louis, but is relatively unknown outside his home town.

With the right backing, Mike Zito could become the next guitar legend. But until he is discovered, youll have to
catch him on his web site or see him live in St. Louis, .ask for him at any club in the Landing. Theyll know the name.
