Jane Michele worked as an integral team member of the Sunshine Coast based band Soulfish, and also appeared as guest performer with respected artists such as Phil Manning, Doc Span and Ross Williams. All these artists have been featured in previous articles. 

While enjoying an eight week exploration of Europe, Jane worked with some of 
Denmark’s best blues artists and conceived the idea for a new album entitled Waiting for Jane

Since it’s release in 1998, Waiting for Jane has earned high praise from all quarters of 
the industry, including Album of the Year 97/98 at the Queensland Recording Association (Sunnie) awards. ABC radio, Australia, placed it on high rotation nationally and MRA. Entertainment Group picked up its distribution, making it available nationally through all music stores. 

I listen to and review many blues CDs over a year and a minority of those feature female singers. Most of the female singers I hear are technically good and entertaining, but its rare to get both a good vocalist and a good backing band,. Few blues singers have a balance between good voice, technique, feeling, expression and backing band. I cant help but compare contemporary blues singers with the elder, the originators of the music such as Ma Rainey. 

This is a very professionally produced and presented CD. I especially enjoyed a funky blues number called Self Sufficient Women, I guess Jane was singing it right from the heart.The pick of the album by far is Dedicated Man and that heart renching Price To Pay well supported by keyboard and guitar. 

The band is Paul Cheeseman on guitar, John White performing superbly on keyboard and more than ably supported by Wayne Newey on bass and Paul Hudson on drums, plus guest performers, The album was produced by award winning Paul Cheesman. 

I would like to see more info of the CD cover as to which tracks the guests perform and some detail of the composers of the tracks. 

I guess my biggest criticism of this album is the poorly presented Jane Michele Web Site .. in my book it doesn’t do justice in presentation of such a class album and musicians. 

Jane Michele is taking her current band The Gentleman’s Club on the road. 
The lineup includes most of the guys off the album, whom Jane says she is very honored and privileged to work with, including the award winning producer. Both Paul and Jane often appear also as a duo. 

During the past few years Jane Michele has seen her career and reputation in the entertainment industry flourish and blossom as a songwriter and performer.
